We understand the importance of having control over the visibility of products in your search bar. While our app is primarily designed to add existing products to bundles and doesn't provide an option to directly hide products within the app, we'd be happy to offer you some alternative solutions.
Utilizing Metafields in Shopify
One approach is to use metafields in Shopify. By adding a specific metafield to those products, you can control whether they appear in search results or not. Please note that this method might not work with certain themes and that this method involves configuring settings in Shopify and not directly with our app. Here's how you can do it:
- Log in to your Shopify admin.
- Click on "Settings."
- Select "Custom data" or "Metafields".
- Click on "Products".
- Click "Add definition."
- Under "Name," enter a descriptive label (e.g., "Hide Product").
- For "Namespace and key", type in "seo.hidden".
- Add a description as you like.
- Click "Select type".
- Choose "Integer".
- Use the default "One Value".
- Set "0" as the Minimum value and "1" as the Maximum value.
- Click "Save".
Now you've created the metafield to control whether a product is hidden or searchable in your store's search bar. To apply this to your products:
- Go to a sample product in Shopify.
- Scroll down to the "Metafields" section.
- Under the "Hide Product" metafield, enter "0" if the product should be searchable and "1" if it should be hidden.
- Lastly, click “Save”.
Important note: The second approach involves working with Shopify's metafield settings and is not directly controlled by our app.
We appreciate your understanding that these solutions involve aspects outside the immediate functionality of our app. We're here to help you in any way we can.
