Understanding Variants in Box Builder: What You Need to Know
Are you curious about why completed bundles in BoxBuilder appear as variants in your Shopify store, and whether this could lead to any issues over time? Rest assured, we're here to explain this behavior and provide clarity on how this app handles variants.
Normal Behavior: BoxBuilder Creates Variants
BoxBuilder creates a Shopify Product based on the bundle you create through our app, it then saves each unique completed bundle as a variant within the Shopify product itself.
Addressing Concerns About Quantity:
You may have concerns about the increasing quantity of variants over time, especially if you offer a vast array of bundle combinations. However, we've got you covered. The BoxBuilder app is designed to handle this automatically. Here's how:
- Automatic Deletion: The app is programmed to delete variants when their number gets close to 100. Why 100? That's the variant limit per product in Shopify.
- Metafields Management: It's not just variants; the app also takes care of the Metafields associated with these variants behind the scenes. These Metafields hold important data for the app's operation, and the app ensures they are managed efficiently.
A Word of Caution:
While the app automatically manages variants and their associated Metafields, we highly recommend that you do not manually delete these variants. Doing so could potentially cause issues with the app's functionality and disrupt your store's operations.
If that happens or if you have other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our amazing support team. We're here to assist you every step of the way as you create and manage your bundle products with BoxBuilder!
